Audrey Luna Birch
My Back Story
Named after her great-grandmother Audree whoe spoke 10 different interspecie languages including mermish, gobbledegock and troll. Luna's father is an auror and her mother is a wizarding book editor. They met while her father was travelling to France for an assignment. They quickly fell in love and although her mother's family started out very snobbish and didn't want them to get married they soon realised that family was more important than family status.

Luna is very close to both her New Zealand family and her French family and spends her holidays in France with her cousins. Her best friend Kat has been to France for visits and they have spent their whole lives together they are practically sisters.
​
Luna's father and Katherine's father were friends at Hogwarts and they never lost touch with each other so when Luna's family moved to New Zealand when she was 6 years old it was natural for her to always be with Kat. They learnt to fly together on children's broomsticks and their parents made sure they were taught all things magic from an early age. Muggle studies were not left out and Katherine's mum made sure they knew everything she could teach them.

Luna's magic first appeared when she was 4 years old, her mother loved reading books, muggle and wizard books if it was written down she would read it. She loved reading Alice in Wonderland and often read this to Luna, so one day Luna's mother heard the girls giggling and came to investigate. Luna was playing with her cousins in the main room with a deck of playing cards that suddenly started sprouting stick figure arms and legs and marched around the room.

After that little episode it took 2 years for more magic to show and by the time she was 8 she was able to use her mothers wand to perform 'Lumos' and 'Nox'. She also loved to read and the summer before she got her Hogwarts letter her father bought her 'Hogwarts: A History'.
Her full name is Audrey Luna Ophélia Birch but she prefers to be called Luna and only her father is allowed to call her Addy. She's very proud of her French and New Zealand heritage but when it comes to Quidditch she fully supports the French national team and even has replica team Quidditch in pale blue that she wears when she goes to their games. She also begged for a white broomstick when she was 10 years old so her father used a spell to change the colour of her current one.

She loves Quidditch and can talk for hours about it but her other passions include reading, learning new languages, studying, making new friends and spending time with her best friend.
​
She is currently bilingual, French is her first language English her second. She wants to live up to her namesake and learn 10 or more languages. Currently she is attempting to learn Mermish by the end of her first year at school. Her future goal is to become an interspecies magical translator and wants to learn 5 new languages before she finished school.
​
She is a friendly, kind, motivated person who doesn't care what anyone thinks about her. Her confidence is partly because she has a very supportive family and she is very close with them especially her French cousins. Her mother has 2 sisters and 2 brothers and she has 7 cousins. Her closest cousins are twin sisters Aura and Ambra and their older brother Andre.

Although she is an only child she has never been alone, she is always surrounded by people and if she isn't with her best friend Kat then she always finds someone to talk to. She would also do anything to protect Kat, she knows that she has the confidence for both of them but she want to help her grow just as Kat helps Luna.
​
She has always wanted to be in Ravenclaw, she had been told stories about all the houses and after reading 'Hogwarts: A History' Ravenclaw was the house she most identified with.
